10/30 = x / 9....10 hrs to 30 miles = x hrs to 9 miles
cross multiply
(30)(x) = (9)(10)
30x = 90
x = 90/30
x = 3 <=== so it took 3 hrs to walk 9 miles

Answer:

3 hours

Explanation:

In order to calculate this you just have to do a simple rule of three to calculate the number of hours that it would take nora to walk 9 miles if she walked 30 miles in 10 hours:

(30 miles)/(10 hours) =(9 miles)/(x)\\ x= (9 miles*10 hours)/(30 miles) \\x=3 hours

So it would take nora 3 hours to walk 9 miles at the same speed.
