We can make an equation out of this by defining this mystery number as x. We can also use the word "of", by realizing that the word means multiplication.
Therefore, we have:
2/5x -3
If we plug in 25, we get:
2/5(25) - 3 =
50/5 - 3 =
10 - 3 =
7
Hopefully this helps!
