Laissez-faire leaders are otherwise referred to as "laid-back" leaders. Laissez-faire leaders are called laid-back leaders because the leaders lay back and delegate leadership, thus leaving the group members to make decisions on their own. Studies have shown that this is in general, the Laissez-faire leadership style leads to the least productivity among group members.
