Napoleon reformed the education system in France in the following ways:
1. He set up four grades of school; primary, secondary and lycées (schools run on military lines) and technical schools.
2. The University of France was established
3. Secondary education was mainly restricted to the sons of notables.
4. No provision was made for the education girls.
5. Schools stressed the importance of obedience and military values.
