Test statistic – calculated value

n = 460

x = 130 yellow

Null Hypothesis: P = 0.25 claim

Alternative Hypothesis: P ≠ 0.25

Phat = x/ n = 130 / 460

Phat = 0.2826

Z = Phat – P / √ Pq /n

Z = 0.2826 – 0.250 / √ (0.25) (0.75) / 460

= 0.0326 / √ 0.1875 / 460

= 0.0326 / √ 0.0004

= 0.0326 / 0.02

= 1.63 is the test statistic
