Social democratic welfare states are characterized by emphasis on the universal rights to achieve greater social equality by promoting equity in its citizens, although today there are several governments that listen to social democracy, and claim to work for the social equality of its inhabitants but control the actions of their compatriots to not get more than what the state can give.
