If the legislative branch passes a bill, then the president still has the power to veto it. This way the executive branch limits the presidents power. However, the Congress can limit the power to veto a bill only if two - thirds of both -the Senate and House of Representative vote to override it.

The executive branch has the power to veto bills that are passed by the legislative branch (the House of Representatives and the Senate).

Hope this helps!
