The Catalan Atlas was a medieval world map created in 1375 by Abraham Cresques. It is considered the most important medieval map in history, consisting of many descriptive pages and details, as the first wind rose and details that allowed to know all the known places in the world until then. Through it was possible for sailors to know the tides, calendar and various information relevant to conquer African countries, hitherto little known by Europeans, but which were described in great detail by the Catalan atlas.
