Carl Rogers a humanistic psychologist believes that within every person there is an enormous potential that when tapped into can help person constructively grow and overcome challenges. To tap into those potentials a supportive environment must be provided to the client and they must be supported and accepted no matter what. Children who are brought up with this unconditional positive regard feel loved and valued regardless of their deeds.
