Cleaning
Looking around me, fearing the walls closing in to mock me.
My little brother, pointing at me with his razor-bladed fingernails, laughing.
As if his laughs were a shadow of my own person, they reverberated in the room.
I collapse to the ground like a spilled cup of water.
This poem consists of 4 elements in poetry:
Personification: "Fearing the walls closing in to mock me," as walls cannot literally mock anyone.
Hyperbole: "My little brother, pointing at me with his razor-bladed fingernails, laughing," is an exaggeration since his fingernails aren't that sharp.
Simile: "I collapse to the ground like a spilled cup of water," is a simile as it compares two unlike objects with the term "like."
Metaphor: "As if his laughs were a shadow of my own person, they reverberated in the room," is a metaphor as it uses "as a" and compares two unlike objects.
I hope this helps!
