0.75 x 2.3 = 1.725
0.75 x 2.42 = 1.815
1.725 + 1.815 = 3.54
So the apples cost $3.54

Hey You!
You must use multiplication to solve:
0.75 (Cost of per pound) × 2.3 (Amount of pounds) = 1.725
0.75 (Cost of per pound) × 2.42 (Amount of pounds) = 1.815
1.725 + 1.815 = 3.54
The apples cost $3.54 together. =)
