Fe + 02 -> Fe203.

2. classify the reaction that occurred between the iron and oxygen.

1) The equation is unbalanced, so it should be
3Fe+ 3O2 -> 3FeO2

2) the reaction is an oxidation reaction and a synthesis reaction because the iron and oxygen would become iron oxide.

3) The evidence that there was a chemical reaction was that the iron and oxygen combined to make iron oxide.
