For what value of x is line m parallel to line n?

Enter your answer in the box.
x =

Line m is parallel to line n. Line m is above line n. A transversal line cuts both parallel lines. The obtuse upward right angle made by the transversal line with line m is labeled as 115 degrees. The acute downward right angle made by the transversal line with line m is labeled as 65 degrees. The acute downward right angle made by the transversal line with line n is labeled as left parenthesis 3 x plus 5 right parenthesis degrees.

The answer is that x = 20.
Lines m and n are parallel and angles on equivalent sides of a traversal of parallel lines are equal, therefore and as it is acute angle ( an angle that is less than 90°), So

3x + 5 = 65°

3x = 65 – 5

3x = 60

x= 20
