He is probably experiencing Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's disease is primarily degenerative brain disease with characteristic changes in brain. Symptoms in Alzheimer's dementia are different for each patient. the most common are: forgetting of immediate past events, difficulties in carrying out everyday activities, unexplained mood swings, depression...
