If the ball hangs for 3.44 seconds then we have to find the range.

When a golf ball is hit by the golfer then golf ball follows a parabolic path.

Vertical component of the velocity lifts the ball up in the air and horizontal component moves it in horizontal direction.

Since we have to find the horizontal distance covered by the ball we will consider the horizontal component = ( v cos θ )

= 36 cos 28° = 31.78 meter/second

Now velocity =
(distance)/(time)

so 31.78 =
(S)/(3.44)

S = 3.44 × 31.78 = 109 meter.

Therefore, nearest answer will be 108 meters.
