substitute y=-26-9x in -2x-y=12

-2x-(-26-9x)=12

-2x+26+9x=12

-2x+9x=12-26

7x= -14

x= -14/2

x= -7

substitute x=-7 in y=26-9x

y= -26-9x

y= -26-9(-7)

y= -26+63

y=37

x= -7 and y=37
