That would be 22+6 = 4x, which 4x = 28. To find x you would take 28 and divide it by 4, wich is 7. so X = 7 and 4x = 28.

Step 1. Add 6 to both sides
4x = 22 + 6
Step 2. Simplify 22 + 6 to 28
4x = 28
Step 3. Divide both sides by 4
x = 28/4
Step 4. Simplify 28/4 to 7
x = 7
