Adrenal insufficiency is the inadequate production of the adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and corticotropic hormone by the pituitary and the hypothalamus respectively. The cardiovascular manifestation of this disorder is severe low blood pressure. This is due to the adrenal loss of electrolytes such as potassium through urine and excessive loss of water.
