Multiplying is the opposite of dividing, so that's why you multiply it by the reciprocal.
1. 1/4 ÷ 3/8 is equivalent to 1/4 × 8/3
2. 1/3 × 8/3 = ?
3. 1 × 8 = 8
4. 3 × 3 = 9
