John Quincy Adams was an adamant supporter of what is called nationalism and he enforced that belief in his foreign policy. Adams created what is called the Monroe doctrine which stated that US would not allow European to colonize any more free states in the South and the North America but also that it would not interfere with the existing colonies or the internal European politics.
