Which would be a consequence of the removal of predators from a population such as the trinidadian guppy population?

The removal of predators from these guppys would most likely result in the explosion of the population of guppys and this in turn would most likely upset nature's balance for example the extra guppys would eat more of the available food and strain the food resources of their apparently marine eco-system.
