y=$5.50(x) + $21 where x us the number of months This will give you the total cost.

y = 5.50x + 21...where x is the number of months and y is the total cost
function notation is basically subbing in f(x) for y
so ur rule in function notation is : f(x) = 5.50x + 21 <==
