If the complement of an angle is 40 less than its supplement, find the angle.

Complement of an angle = 90 - x
Supplement of an angle = 180 - x

Complement = Supplement - 40 degrees

Then

90 - x = 180 - x - 40 (degrees)

Unfortunately, " -x " cancels here, and we are left with 90 = 180 - 40. This is never true. Please ensure that you have copied the origianl problem down correctly.
