Pakistan has provided support and cover for the taliban in Afghanistan. It has been reported that Pakistani intelligence gives funding, training and sanctuary to the Afghan Taliban on a large scale. It would appear that by backing Afghanistan's insurgents, Pakistan's security service is trying to undermine Indian influence in Afghanistan and to assert their influence in Afghanistan.
