How did the Tokugawa shogunate set up centralized feudalism in Japan?

Tokugawa Shogunate has not only set up just set up centralized feudalism in Japan but also threw out almost all of the foreigners from the country and banned Christianity. So they brought this feudal set up into prominence by integrating the feudal lords to the government and power.
