This type of farming is know as subsistence farming.
The products usually only serves for the farmer and one's family. This is opposite from commercial farming, which most products are usually transported for sale.
In addition, subsistence farming is usually more labour intensive since the farming area is usually smaller and they may only have a few small size automation machines.
