According to the latest statistics, there are about 1.4 million of military personnel in the United States today that are all assigned in various areas. This information was provided by the Defence Manpower data. With that number serving in the US today, it is approximately about 0.4% of the whole population that are currently in the military today. But with all the wars that had happened in our world, it is estimated that all Americans, including the veterans, that had served in the military would amount to 22 million. This translates that about 7.3% of the whole population of the US has served in the military in their life time.
