2, -2 would be a solution to a system of inequalities if when substituted both of the inequalities are true.
Example: 2x - 6 = y
3x - 8 = y

1. Substitute
2(2) - 6 = -2
3(2) - 8 = -2

2. Solve
4 - 6 = -2
6 - 8 = -2

Both of these equations are true. Which makes 2, -2 a solution.

If this isn't what you were asking for can you please clarify on what the question is?
