Find the slope of the line that is parallel and perpendicular to the line through the pair of points

You use the same slope for a parallel equation, but the reciprocal of the slope for a perpendicular equation.

Ex) x=2 for parallel
x=-2 for perpendicular

That is one of the main things you must do, but after you must find the slope from your pair of points using the slope formula.
