Am I supposed to figure out the symbols and then make a sentence out of it or am I supposed to just write the symbols how they are organized

The first one would be:

Man plow/till(s) (the) land sun water grain
(The man plowed the land and grew grain.)
The second one is:

Man('s) ox go/went (to the) city grain hand king.
(The man and his ox went to the city and gave the king grain.)
