Majority rule refers to the surface of democracy that lets what the most people want to happen. This is the foundation for our voting system in the US. But, if the wants of the majority interfere with upon the rights of people in the minority, the majority may have to make concessions. We should strive for majority rule with protection for minority rights. The Constitution defends the rights of all citizens heedlessly of what the majority wants.
