Ammonia is NH3, meaning there are three bonds. All three bonds are between nitrogen and hydrogen, one each per hydrogen atom. If dissolved in water, they can also be called ammonium hydroxide. (NH4OH)

Answer: 3 covalent bonds

Step-by-step explanation:

Covalent bond is formed by equal sharing of bonded Electrons.

Generally covalent bond is formed between non metals. In our example, NH3 ,both N and H are non metals.

In NH3, nitrogen is Central atom and it is surrounded by 3 He.

Each hydrogen is attached to nitrogen by covalent bonds.

Hence no of covalent bonds:3
