The sets of numbers 3, 4, 5 and 8, 15, 17 are Pythagorean triples. Use what you know about the Pythagorean Theorem and explain or show why they are Pythagorean triples. Be sure to show your work for each set of triples!

Pythagorean Theorem: a^2 + b^2 = c^2

If 3 numbers satisfy the above equation, we can them triplets.

So: 3,4,5

3^2 + 4^2 = 5^2
9 + 16 = 25
25 = 25

True, so this is a set of triple.

8^2+15^2 = 17^2
64 + 225 = 289
289 = 289

True, so this is a set of triple as well.
