The correct answer is D.

The Atlanta Compromise was an agreement reached in 1895 between Booker T. Washington, president of the Tuskegee Institute, some other African American leaders and white leaders from certain Southern states.

The Compromise stated that black citizens would submit to white rule and be part of the labor force in exchange for having certain rights guaranteed such as access to basic education and due process in law. Moreover, blacks accepted not to inmediately focus their efforts on the fights for equality, integration or social justice.
