In "The Listeners," what does the man do when he realizes no one is going to answer?

1. He rides away on his horse.

2. He looks for evidence of their departure.

3. He walks to a neighbor's house.

4. He enters the house to look for inhabitants.

I believe the answer is 2.

I dont think the story says he has a house, or walk into a house without permisson. the best answer I believe is 2.

It also makes sense then walking into a stranger house
