True.
Our society has dealt with a lot of controversy and conflict due to events that have occured in the past. (Ex. Racism, Feminism, Homophobia, Politics, Etc.) People have opinions. Almost everyone has their own opinion about certain subjects. Two or more differences are bound to clash at some point or another, that's just how the world works. How do these opinions form, though? Due to events in the past. If we were to have a complete and fresh new start to history itself, do you think there would be so many problems? Probably not. So again, to answer your question, True.

Hope this helps. :)
