Perhaps the most difficult obstacle presidents face when attempting to influence public opinion

The lack of serious attention paid by the public to each event is a big issue. Events happen so quickly and in such succession that it makes focusing on a single issue difficult. Keeping the public's attention long enough to make any type of wholesale, long-lasting change in their opinions on a subject becomes a tall order.
