A level 2 ultrasound is a detailed ultrasound that goes over the fetal anatomy. This ultrasound is preformed around 20 weeks gestation, and checks for any abnormalities. This ultrasound is ordered for every patient, it is a normal part of prenatal care. It is important that this ultrasound is preformed in the instance that there is an abnormality so the doctor and patient can plan accordingly.
