The five categories of software that are useful when conducting or undergoing an investigation are the following;
· Verification software – a process used for checking a system for it to be able to identify its purpose and specifications
· Imaging software– provides imaging view, scanning and editing for a software or system
· Application software – provides the computer activities that will be of benefit for the user
· Forensic software – provides forensic investigation for analyzing
· Antivirus software – it removes or prevent malicious software that may corrupt files and destroy the computer and it also detects it in means of having to protect the computer
