Jacques Cœur was the treasurer to Charles VII of France and a friend to Pope Nicholas V, he was a rich men, from a rich french family,  was in charge of the minting of the currency in the kingdom between 1435 and 1451. In 1438 he was placed in charge of the personal administration of the king, he had many other important positions, and died in a greek island 1456.
