day 1 + day 2 = 0
x + (-6) = 0....with x being his score on day 1
x - 6 = 0
x = 6.....so Jesse got a score of 6 on the first day

Answer:

Jesse's score on the first day was 6.

Explanation:

Let the score Jesse got on the first day be = x

Jesse played two days of golf. On the second day, he got a score of -6.

His total score for the two days was 0.

We can define these as;

x+(-6)=0

=> x-6=0

So, x = 6

Hence, Jesse's score on the first day was 6.
