In the play, Julius Caesar, why does Brutus eventually decide to go along with the plot to kill his friend Caesar?

He worries that Caesar has gotten too popular and will abuse his power once he s crowned. Brutus thinks that once Caesar has the power, he will be corrupt. So, as early as that moment, he prevented that event will happen.
