What type of ions do metals typically form?

Metals generally lose electrons when they form ions. Therefore, they usually form
"cations" because they are losing negative charges.

Cations are ions that are PAW-sitively charged ions. "meow!" (this trick helped me remember that cations are positive ions. I hope it helps you too!)
