The area of a rectangle is 45 m2 , and the length of the rectangle is 1 m more than twice the width. Find the dimensions of the rectangle.

Let w and 2w+1 be the width and length of the rectangle, respectively. Then:
w(2w+1)=45
2w²+w-45=0
(2w-9)(w+5)=0
w=9/2 or -5
The rectangle is 9/2 m by 10m
