Two trains left Metropolis at the same time. One traveled south at 60 mph. The other traveled east 50 mph. How far apart were the trains at the end of 3 hours?

Distance = Velocity * Time

D = 60 * 3 = 180
D = 50 * 3 = 150

The first train traveled 30 more miles per hours then the second.

30 mph because if you do 60x 3 and 50x3, you get 180 and 150, then you subtract 180-150 and you get 30
