How does Texas law approach the issue of former government officials becoming lobbyists?

Texas law does allow former government officials to become lobbyist. State lawmakers are able to go straight from their jobs representing constituents to representing special interest lobby groups. They are even allowed to be consultants for the industry in which they were previously hired to regulate.
