What were the benefits and consequences of president Jefferson’s decision to buy New Orleans and the resulting Louisiana Purchase

The benefits include, the size of the country grew and provided territory for the westward expansion. The consequences included whether we should let the already natives of the state stay and the great bargain of it all. :) let me know if this helped at all
