Great Britain imposed a direct tax on paper goods such as wills, newspapers and licenses; which lead to boycotts and a group of delegates to meet to determine how to protest it. This was also called the Stamp Act.

The colonists protested by boycotting British goods. In turn of the protesting, Parliament repealed the Stamp Act.
