Byzantine culture hugely influenced religion. Influenced by the Byzantine culture, Russia, Kiev and Novgorod embraced the religion of Byzantium (Orthodox Christianity) . Every thing in these cities was ruled by religion, including clothing, art and architecture. They also adopted the Cyrillic Alphabet and the Byzantine crafts and products.
