Kenneth has been exhausted lately and keeps getting sick. He finally goes to the hospital because he can't get over a common cold. While in the hospital, the doctors find a fungal infection in his lungs and then check his white blood cells. His white blood cell counts are extremely low.Which STD/STI might Kenneth have? This sounds like he is experiencing AIDS or Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome which are a group of syndromes that result from an uncontrolled HIV infection. HIV or Human Immunodeficiency Virus is a viral agent responsible for infection of the same name that attacks the immune system cells directly lowering it to the point where the body becomes impaired when fighting off other illnesses. Common Colds are a very tell tale signs of one because instead of disappearing after a day to several it is clear the immune system is failing. Additionally uncommon illness like fungi that usually float around like Aspergillis or Coccidiodimycosis can take root fairly easy. Additionally the siaease can be confirmed by low WBC counts.
